Advanced Specialist Diploma in Counselling Young People


This graduate level Diploma course is aimed at qualified counsellors interested in developing and expanding their current practice in order to facilitate work with children and adolescents. 

The course will be delivered over 8 Fridays (fortnightly) at the Heartwood Centre on the Dartington Estate, and launches on 21st April 2017.

The training will deliver a range of theory and technique designed to equip students with the skills required to work ethically and competently with a variety of issues related to working with children and adolescents.

The course is delivered using a variety of experiential and didactic methods and is designed to both inspire and engender confidence in students to work in this field, incorporating all of the current requirements for working with this age group.

Entry requirements for this course:

·      Must be currently in practice (private practice or within an agency).

·      Must have at least 100 hours of supervised clinical practice hours to date.

·      Must be a member of a governing body (BACP NCS UKCP etc)

·      Must have a minimum of Level 4 Diploma in Counselling qualification

This course is currently working towards NCS Specialist Diploma status and we envisage this being in place in time for the course launch date.

Cost of this course:

·      £1,375

This includes all teaching days, assessment, tutorials, external assessment and teaching materials.
