Heartwood provides professional accredited training in counselling, psychotherapy and continual professional development courses in the heart of Devon within the beautiful grounds of The Dartington Hall Estate. We are also and organisation member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) We believe that it is important to create a learning environment in which the student feels safe to explore, be creative and grow. All our courses are run by professionals in the field of counselling and psychotherapy and are designed to incorporate all new government legislation and requirements. We are in changing times and soon Counselling and Psychotherapy will be regulated titles. At Heartwood we believe strongly in offering courses which are in line with the latest professional requirements. This is why our courses are accredited by the UKs leading awarding body (CPCAB). Our courses can lead to a Foundation Degree in Counselling, in partnership with the Open University. Our Diploma courses are in line with BACP requirements and our students are accepted to become 'Student Members' of the BACP whilst in training and 'Full members' once qualified. Once students reach 450 client hours they are entitled to become 'Accredited Members' of the BACP. We believe that the training we offer is of the highest standard in Devon as there are very few training providers who fit into the BACP requirements and ALSO provide a recognised qualification; most training providers will offer either one or the other but not both. We continue to receive excellent verification reports and maintain well above average targets for student achievement; in 2011 ALL our Diploma students completed their training and ALL of them passed their exams and are now fully qualified.
